product description
1965 Patek Philippe Vintage Mens Handwound Ref. 3468 18K Gold Dress Watch Very Fine & Rare - Presents Beautifully We are pleased to offer this very fine and classic Patek Philippe mens handwound dress watch. With its vintage styled light silver face and timeless case with downward turned lugs, it showcases an elegant vintage Patek style. Powering the watch is its illustrious Patek Philippe 10 ligne movement, stamped in two places with the prestigious Poinçon de Genève, unquestionably among the finest hand-winding movements ever built. We were fortunate to aquire it with its original parts down to the hands and winding crown. Its thin Patek Philippe case presents as just short of mint with only fairly light signs of previous polishing. Its dial, which was restored in vintage times, shows only slight aging. It presents beautifully on the wrist. One of our Master Watchmakers has fully serviced the watch which consists of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, replacing the winding pinion, set wheel, and yolk spring bridge with correct Patek parts, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and timing testing and regulation (a $1895 value). Depending on the pressure put on the crown when being wound, sometimes there is a light click. Photos of the inside available upon request. For the finishing touch we have equipped it with a new crocodile strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment. If you would like us to obtain an Extract from the Patek Philippe archives for you please inquire. Patek charges 500 CHF to provide one. Patek Philippe: Patek Philippe sets the standard as the finest watch manufacturer in the world. In the 1960's and 70's, Patek Philippe produced less than fifty watches per day (contrast this with Rolex and other fine watch manufacturers that produced 500 - 3,000 pieces per day). Important examples of Patek's wristwatches took between nine-months and one-year to assemble.
