Classic Vivienne Westwood Gold label 1996-1997 skirt suit in blue-on-blue striped worsted wool fabric Jacket with shawl collar, closure with one orb button, two lateral pockets. High-waist pencil skirt with closure at the back. Pink satin lining. Fabric: 100% worsted wool (from Learoyd Huddersfield). Size UK 12 (42 IT, 40 FR) for jacket and UK 14 for the skirt, see measurements: Jacket: Shoulders 39 cm / Armpit to armpit 46 cm / Waist 40 cm / Length 58 cm. Skirt: Waist 35 cm / Hips 50 cm / Length 70 cm. Very good condition. Two pin-sized holes on one layer at a place where the fabric is doubled, so almost invisible. A seam is unstitched for two centimetres at the skirt slit, very easy to repair, minor.

Dame Vivienne Westwood is an English fashion designer and businesswoman, largely responsible for bringing modern punk and new wave fashions into the mainstream. Westwood came to public notice when she made clothes for Malcolm McLaren's boutique in the King's Road, which became famous as "SEX". It was their ability to synthesise clothing and music that shaped the 1970s UK punk scene, dominated by McLaren's band, the Sex Pistols. She was deeply inspired by the shock-value of punk - "seeing if one could put a spoke in the system".
